Much closer to us are the villages of Gravedona and Dongo, you can easily reach walking.

Gravedona is rich in churches and art; a visit to the romanic church of Santa Maria del Tiglio is a must, and then Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Palazzo Gallio, the Castello area.

Dongo is known for the capture of Mussolini in the 2nd World War, here is a museum dedicated to this event and above all  the “Sala d’Oro” inside the town-hall is an absolute must.

What to do in the evening

What about a dinner in a nice restaurant facing the lake where you can taste the typical dishes of the “Lario” and “Valtellina”. Usually a “pizzeria” is joined to a restaurant which is very appreciated by children and…adults.

  • What about a stroll beside the lake while tasting a delicious ice-cream.
  • Let you get involved in the Summer events organized by the local associations. Two events are very popular and lots of people come to see them: the fireworks at the Comacina Island on 24th June and the allegorical boats and magic fireworks in Gravedona ed Uniti on 14th August.
  • During the warm Summer evenings it is nice simply to relax on the terrace feeling the gentle breeze and watching the moon coming out of Monte Legnone and reflecting herself in the lake making his surface all silver and bordered of thousands little white, yellow and orange lights, these are the lights of the villages facing the lake, and for a while everything is … magic and poetry.
